The False Luke

This project is about things that acquire a value of aesthetic configuration but that also contain as-pects related to anger, ethics, politics, and all those things that are pertinent to life. This project is about an object that is already situated in a place; my aim is to clarify its vision without changing its nature – including the moving of the object itself. This object has an entrance – maybe a metaphor for death - a threshold that anybody can pass, but once inside, there is nothing there to be found. On the other hand, what is outside is even less (more death, exploitation, abuse, violence, numbness to all of the above.). This object is a living metaphor. It is like putting a live person inside an art gallery. All the people that are participating into this project are only instrumental; they are not the end goal. I am very interested in human relations, but relations are instrumental to my idea, they are not the end result. It is about an aesthetic sociology: things are already situated in a places; there is no need to add much to them or to invent them anew. The Cafausu undergoes constant change; it dies and comes back to life all the time. What really dies though is the sense of things and bodies, sense dies before things and bodies die. Nobody is shocked by events anymore (see the killing of the hundreds children in Ossetia…). Sense for me comes before value; this is not a moralistic project/idea.
